White Nothe limited edition wood engraving
How we love White Nothe. While the view from the top of this chalky headland must be one of the best on the whole of the Dorset coast, we have equally fond memories of a mellow September Sunday, when we followed the precipitous zig-zagging Smuggler's Path down to the shore, eating lightly salted, sun-warmed blackberries as we went. Kath Littler's exquisite wood engraving captures both the beauty and the drama of this Dorset coastal gem.
Mounted, unframed wood engraving.
Titled, signed and numbered, limited edition of 75.

Keeping it local
Kath Littler worked as an art teacher and practising painter in various media throughout her career. After moving to Dorset in 1992, she became interested in printmaking and was a member of Poole Printmakers for many years. Then, in 2003, she re-met her lecturer from college, Peter Reddick, a prominent wood engraver and book illustrator. His beautifully-skilled engravings with their fluid rhythms and black and white contrast expressing drama in nature inspired her to take up the medium.
Much of Kath's subject matter derives from the beauty of the landscape and coast. She prints her wood engravings by hand on a Victorian press and is a member of the Society of Wood Engravers, with whom she exhibits regularly.
