Stoat bijou block
We were delighted when local ‘wild wood’ artist Tanya Hinton agreed to a special FOLDE commission of bijoux blocks, a series of small but perfectly formed animals painted on reclaimed blocks of pine.
We have two of each animal available; each is an individual work of art in miniature.
Friends of FOLDE know that we are partial to a mustelid, and this little stoat is no exception. Stoats are known to sometimes use 'charm' when hunting, by rolling over and chasing their own tail - with its distinctive black tip. Painted on wood, under a gold leaf sky, he's certainly charmed us!
Material: Oil on pine
Dimensions: 85mm x 87mm x 45mm (dimensions may vary slightly due to the uniqueness of each item)

Keeping it local
Tanya Hinton’s studio is just over the border in Wiltshire. Having painted on canvas for many years, she discovered working on wood around eight years ago and has never looked back. Each piece is a ready-made landscape, a habitat for a wild and beautiful animal.
The wood Tanya uses is found, discarded or donated. Each of her artworks is therefore unique with its own history.
