  • Keeping it local

Liz graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1988 with a degree in textile design and spent 16 years working as a designer in London, before moving to Dorset and becoming a full-time artist.

Inspired by artists such as Edward Bawden, Rena Gardiner and Nikolai Astrup, Liz works with various forms of handcoloured relief print, sometimes using the more traditional lino but more recently, plywood and mdf board. They are mostly large; she finds it hard to work small, particularly with such monumental subjects.

Over the years Liz has developed her style of printmaking, combining a lino- or woodcut printed keyline (a boundary line that separates areas of colour as well as adding definition and texture) with painted blocks of colour. Her work can be viewed in galleries and at exhibitions across the UK.
